Education
Mathias Bücherl holds a Master's degree in IT Management from FOM University of Applied Science for Economics & Management Nuremberg, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Business Computer Science from the Cooperative State University Stuttgart. Prior to that, Mathias Bücherl underwent professional training and qualified as an IT Specialist in System Integration through IHK Regensburg.
Career
Mathias Bücherl held various positions in the area of Cyber Security at Deutsche Telekom AG in Germany, Singapore and Mexico from 2013 to 2020. He had a leading role in building the international Cyber Security business, portfolio and operation in EMEA, APAC and Americas.
From 2020 to 2023 Mathias Bücherl was overseeing the Cyber Security Business Unit with P&L responsibility, focusing on Governance, Risk, Compliance and Security Operation at Axians in Switzerland and Czech Republic.
Since 1st March 2023, Mathias Bücherl serves as the Group CISO of Heidelberg Materials, directing the global efforts to shape and execute the Cyber Security and Resilience strategy.
Complementing his professional duties, Mathias Bücherl is lecturing at universities in the field of Cyber Security.
