Personnel change in the Supervisory Board of HeidelbergCement

Following an application of the company, the Local Court (Amtsgericht) of Mannheim/Germany supplemented the Supervisory Board of HeidelbergCement AG by appointing Prof. Dr. Marion Weissenberger-Eibl as a member in the capacity of shareholder representative. She succeeds Dr.-Ing. Herbert Lütkestratkötter, who had resigned from his position for personal reasons. Her term of appointment will expire on the occasion of the by-election held at the next Annual General Meeting of HeidelbergCement AG on 8 May 2013.

Her extensive experience and expertise in the areas of innovation research, renewable energies, demographic development, sustainability, and knowledge management will be a valuable addition to the Supervisory Board of HeidelbergCement AG. By appointing Prof. Dr. Weissenberger-Eibl, HeidelbergCement is also strengthening its links to science and research in view of future technological and social challenges.”

Prof. Dr. Marion Weissenberger-Eibl, has been head of the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI in Karlsruhe since April 2007. Her main research focuses are the management of innovations and technology, roadmapping, strategic technology foresight and planning, enterprise networks, and knowledge management. In addition, she has held the Chair of Innovation and Technology Management at the University of Kassel since April 2004. As a member of the group of experts in the German Chancellor’s Dialogue on Germany’s Future, she heads the working group Innovation Culture and advises the Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel on the future design of society and economy in Germany.
