Premiere for serial 3D construction printing with sustainable building materials from Heidelberg Materials

Using sustainable high-tech building materials from Heidelberg Materials, the DREIHAUS project by real estate company KRAUSGRUPPE is currently under construction in Heidelberg and will serve as a future reference for serial 3D residential building printing. Developed as part of a collaboration between PERI 3D Construction and Korte-Hoffmann Gebäudedruck, the scalable concept for a three-story apartment building has been optimised for 3D printing. Leveraging its expertise in 3D concrete printing and the decarbonisation of the built environment, Heidelberg Materials is providing high-tech materials with a substantially reduced carbon footprint for the implementation of DREIHAUS in Heidelberg.
The first two of three buildings planned in Heidelberg will be constructed using evoBuild® 3D printing – a fully recyclable construction material. This material features a binder with a carbon footprint that is more than 50% lower than the one of conventional Portland cement. For the third building, the partners are taking a pioneering step: evoZero® from Heidelberg Materials will be used as the binder, marking its first application in Germany. evoZero® is the world’s first carbon captured cement, enabling customers to make significant progress toward their climate targets. The CO₂ reduction in evoZero® is achieved through the application of innovative carbon capture technology at the Heidelberg Materials plant in Brevik, Norway.
