Statement on the company list published by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

Regarding the company list published today by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), on which Heidelberg Materials AG and our subsidiary Hanson Israel are included, we note the following:

Hanson Israel does not operate any facilities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. In 2023, Hanson Israel ceased all activities at the Nahal Raba quarry and the associated asphalt plant and ready-mix concrete plant. The entire Nahal Raba complex remains closed.

Until today, neither Heidelberg Materials AG nor Hanson Israel were listed in the database created on the basis of Resolution 31/36 of the Human Rights Council. As Hanson Israel is not active in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, the inclusion of Heidelberg Materials AG and Hanson Israel in the updated database does not reflect the current situation and, in our view, is not justified.

We submitted this assessment as part of a statement to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) by the deadline on September 24, 2025, and are awaiting the promised publication of our statement.
