New Delta Development Project – expanding Egypt’s agricultural future

The New Delta Development Project is one of Egypt’s most ambitious agricultural initiatives, spanning more than 2.2 million feddans (around 2.28 million hectares) along the Dabaa Axis. Led by the Ministry of Housing and the National Company for General Construction & Supplies, it focuses on reclaiming large areas of land through staged infrastructure development. The project includes canal excavation, irrigation networks, road construction, and a man-made river that together form the backbone of future agricultural production. Heidelberg Materials Egypt supports this transformative project with 40,000 tons of cement for critical infrastructure works – helping to lay the foundations for a greener and more food-secure Egypt.
