We are seeking a Manager Newsroom (f/m/d) for our Group Communication & Investor Relations Department. In this role, you will be part of the Corporate Communication team and drive editorial planning, channel coordination and day-to-day operations in our global newsroom.

Group Communication and Investor Relations play a crucial role in enhancing Heidelberg Materials' reputation and value among investors, policymakers, the public, employees, and customers as the frontrunner on the path to carbon neutrality and circular economy in the building materials industry.

As our new Newsroom Manager, you will report to the Head of Corporate Communications and be located in our headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany.

Your next challenge

  • You will play a decisive role in proactively driving our content strategy and editorial planning process working closely with the Corporate Communication team and network of communicators around the world
  • You will further develop our global newsroom and manage all related processes (ownership of planning software, host all newsroom meetings)
  • You collaborate extensively with content and channel owners to identify relevant themes stories and communication activities
  • You develop and implement the right measures to increase relevance and reach of our content 

Your profile

  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a newsroom manager, editor-in-chief, in public relations or corporate communication in a large corporation or communication agency
  • A degree in journalism/communication management/media relations
  • Profound knowledge of corporate communication processes and channels as well as editorial planning
  • An intrinsic understanding of what makes a great story and excellent content creating skills for a variety of formats
  • Exceptional writing and expression skills in both German and English (being an English native speaker is a plus)
  • Interested in current economic, social, and geopolitical issues
  • Outstanding project and stakeholder management skills as well as strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Team player with a strong sense of ownership, well organized, focused on high quality, creative, and able to multi-task
