For our Heidelberg Materials Trading business with Headquarters in Heidelberg we are looking for an Assistant Trade Manager (f/m/d).

The role has a primary focus on operational support for our traders. It includes market analysis and some business development. In due course, a successful candidate would have increasing exposure to clients and deal-making.

Your next challenge

  • Support the Trade Manager and Senior Trade Manager for executing purchase and/or sales transactions, operational coordination of seaborne trading of cement and other cementitious materials
  • Act as the focal point between the shipping department and external suppliers and customers to ensure seamless trade execution
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to record consumption, deliveries and forecasts
  • Support regional monthly reporting and analysis
  • Find new business opportunities
  • Research and process customs and trade data
  • Being involved in in projections of trade flows 

Your profile

  • University degree, preferably in business administration, engineering, logistics, business management or a related field with a very good graduation
  • < 3 years work experience in commodity trading, trading operations, dry bulk shipping, cement industry or logistics with an understanding of processes and incoterms will be an asset
  • Ambitious to learn and a pro-active working style
  • Problem-solving, analytical personality being able to prioritize
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English, knowledge of French (B2) is a priority, knowledge in Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic or any other language would be a strong asset
  • Experience in an international environment with the ambition to work in a challenging, complex and fast-paced environment
  • Willingness for overseas travel especially to Africa
